s idea to combine my hatred of yard work with the new hobby. Even quicker, I determined there was no better way to do this than destroying have the backyard and turn it into an 1/18 scale RC TRACK.Such great ideas often come without much forethought, and after a couple of weeks of round up, many attempts to kill the grass with the mower and realizing that digging up 1600 sq ft of yard is much harder at 41 than 21, I started to get discouraged. I was determined I had to rethink this. I had to regroup and ask myself one of the unbendable rules of life.
How would a Polk County Redneck do this...? I had to check the list..
1) Goats!!!!! No goats

2) drunk couzin's Nope...out of state
3) Illegal fireworks from cross state lines? Would take to long
4) Burn it with used motor oil and old tires from my Pimped out ATV QUAD!!! It's in the shop...Ah...I know...
5) 'Borrow' a wooden pallet, hammer a bunch of ol' nails through it and drag it through the yard with a riding lawnmower.
JACKPOT!!!
Ok so, I completed the test build of the rig, tied a rope....and the damn lawnmower tire was flat. So in true redneck fashion, I tied it around my waste and dragged the $#&%@!!! I quickly determined three things. The idea was genius... I'm still 41... I need a tire pump...That said, I got to make a few passes with very acceptable results. A few extra nails, a tire pump and a sunny day and I'm good to go.... Oh and some Budwizer!
Pics below of rig and first results...
